Unfort...My apologies for the delay in responding. <br /><br />Unfortunately there are no general rule indicators, apart from the 3/ prefix, often used inconsistently, which will set apart a Special or Extra Reserve man from a man whose number has been issued from another series. In some regiments, having said that, it's easy to tell because the number ranges are so different. At a guess, is it those in the lowest number range, of 324 to 2029?
